The present study was conducted to investigate the mediating role of academic help-seeking in the relation of academic emotion of hope and academic dishonesty. Participants were 360 high school students (177 girls and 184 boys) who were selected via random cluster sampling method. In order to investigate the research variables Academic Emotion of Hope Questionnaire (Pekrun et al., 2002), Help-Seeking Scale (Ryan & Pintrich, 1997), and Academic Dishonesty Scale (McCabe & Trevino, 1996) were used. For analyzing the research model, structural equation model and AMOS22 software were used. Results showed that academic emotion of hope predicted academic dishonesty directly and also indirectly through academic help-seeking. Conclusively, results of this study showed the importance of academic emotion of hope and academic help-seeking in the reduction of academic dishonesty. Manuscript profile

The aim of this study was to investigate the mediating role of academic self-regulation in the relationship between academic hope and components of approaches to learning. Participants were 348 high school students (223 girls and 125 boys) which were selected using the random cluster sampling method during 2014-2015 academic years. In order to investigate the variables of research, Self-Regulation Questionnaire (Bouffard et al., 1995), Academic Hope and Learning Approach (Elliot et al., 1999) scale were used. For analyzing the research model, structural equation model and Amos 22 software were used. Results showed that academic hope predicted approach to learning directly and also indirectly through academic self- regulation. In sum, the results of this study indicate the importance and role of academic hope in increasing academic self-regulation and adaptive approaches. Due to the adaptive role of academic hope, educators need to pay special attention to teach these capabilities to students. Also, an increase in the negative attitude toward education and a decrease in the positive expectation of education society today will also increase the need for education and training of capabilities such as hope. The aim of this study was to investigate the mediating role of self-deception in the relationship between moral identity and emotional well-being. The participants were 320 (170 women and 150 Men) undergraduate students from Shiraz University which were selected via random cluster sampling method, and completed the self- deception questionnaire of Sirvent et al. (2019), moral identity scale of Aquino & Reed (2002), and emotional well- being scale of Keyes & Magyar-Moe (2003). The validity and reliability of the research scales were also verified by confirmatory factor analysis and Cronbach's alpha coefficient. To test the research hypothesis, path analysis were used. The findings showed that the research model fited well with the data collected. Also, the results showed a negative and statistically significant relationship between the dimensions of moral identity and self-deception, a negative and statistically significant relationship between self-deception and emotional well-being, a positive and statistically significant relationship between internalization and emotional well-being. There was no statistically significant relationship between symbolization and emotional well-being. The mediating role of self-deception was also confirmed. In general, the findings of the present study indicated the importance of paying attention to the self-deception influence of moral identity and affecting students' emotional well-being. The results are discussed based on research and theoretical evidence. Manuscript profile

The purpose of this study was causal explanation of the dimensions of academic dishonesty among a group of undergraduate students at Shiraz University. Participants were 303 (185 girls and 118 boys) undergraduates at Shiraz University (during 2019-2020 academic year) who were selected using a multi-stage cluster random sampling method. They completed the moral character scale of Khoramei & Ghaemi (2018), self-deception of Sirvent et al. (2019), and Academic Dishonesty scales of Bashir & Bala (2018). For analyzing the research model, structural equation modeling and Amos 24 software was used. The results showed that the research model fits well with the data collected. Findings showed that moral character predicted dimensions of academic dishonesty directly and indirectly (through self- deception). Also, the maximum variance was explained by lying about academic assignments and the minimum variance by cheating in examination in the model. In general, the findings of the present study illustrate the role of moral character and self-deception in explaining the dimensions of academic dishonesty, and especially Manuscript profile

Despite the importance of social safeness, little research has provide a causal explanation. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to introduce a causal explanation of the social safeness based on neuroticism and the satisfaction and frustration of basic psychological needs among a group of undergraduate students at Shiraz University. Participants were 291 (170 girls) during 2020-21 academic year, who were selected using a multi-stage random cluster sampling method. They completed the Costa and McCrae neuroticism scale (1992), basic psychological needs satisfaction and frustration scale Chen et al. (2015), and social safeness and pleasure scale Gilbert et al. (2009). The validity and reliability of the research scales were evaluated and confirmed using confirmatory factor analysis and Cronbach's alpha coefficient. For analyzing the research model, path analysis and Amos 24 software was used. Also, the results showed that the research model fits well with the data collected. Findings showed that neuroticism predicted social safeness indirectly (Through the mediation of the basic psychological needs satisfaction and frustration). In general, the results of this study indicate that social safeness planning requires attention to both personality traits and the situations created by these traits, such as the satisfaction and frustration of basic psychological needs. The results are discussed based on research and theoretical evidence. Manuscript profile
