The aim of the present study was to validate and examine the psychometric properties of the Rejection Sensitivity Expectation, Perception, and Reaction Questionnaire (RSEPR-P) among married individuals in Iran. The research method was applied in terms of its goal, descriptive in terms of data collection, and categorized as a test development and psychometric study in terms of methodology. The statistical population consisted of all married individuals in Kurdistan province, from which 393 participants were selected using convenience sampling. Data collection tools included the Rejection Sensitivity Expectation, Perception, and Reaction Questionnaire (RSEPR-P), the Revised Dyadic Adjustment Scale (RDAS), and the Rejection Sensitivity Questionnaire (RSQ). To assess the questionnaire’s validity, confirmatory factor analysis, content validity, and convergent and divergent validity were employed. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the model's goodness of fit and the internal structure of the questionnaire items. To assess reliability, Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was used, with an overall coefficient of 0.95 indicating strong internal consistency and satisfactory reliability of the questionnaire in the Iranian sample. For convergent validity, the RSQ was used, and for divergent validity, the RDAS was applied. The results showed that the RSEPR-P has acceptable criterion validity (P < 0.01). Therefore, it can be concluded that the RSEPR-P possesses the necessary capabilities to assess the construct of rejection among Iranian couples and can be utilized for couple therapy and research purposes in the context of couple-related issues and relationships.
